Sometimes, we’ll feel pressured to think about a certain idea differently based on those whom we surround ourselves with. For example, you may like your boss and get along well with him but based on what other people in the office think about him, you might change your outlook on him entirely. Reading this, someone may well think "Oh, great. Here's where I hear all about the problems with peer pressure. But that's harmless. I've heard about that for years, but it's never had a negative effect in my life or that of anybody else." But as you get older things that seemed harmless as kids may be a much bigger deal. Now, the boss may get a lower rating on his ratings in the company based on your answers to a survey, which can affect his salary, and thereby affect his family at home.
